The original entrance of “Vagon-Restaurant” inevitably attracts the attention of all those passing by.
The locomotive breaks out from the wall of a house seeming to leap out on the roadway. Undoubtedly, designers have achieved the desired effect: you always expect something unusual from this restaurant.
Indeed, once at the entrance surrounded by lamps, cables, rails and engine wheels you find yourself in a departure lounge under the clock crowning the bar. “Vagon-Restaurant” is a bona fide fount of railroad times styles and interiors having preserved the atmosphere of the wagons of different periods.
Different rooms bear unique moods. For example, “Western Wagon” is stylized according to the American postal car. Fine furniture and western-like items create relaxed background for a noisy hearty-party. Almost equally democratic atmosphere provides “Star Room” which is full of Hollywood celebrities’ portraits and star-striped flags. Here it’s easy to feel yourself get involved in a glittery world of American show business. A bit different kind of ambiance prevails in “English Room” that replicates the interior of the “London-Glasgow” train. Here everything is ruled by the Victorian style with its touching primness, restraint and coolness. By the way, this is the only non-smoking room in “Vagon-Restaurant”.
The most demanding “travelers” will get what they want in the red, white and golden “King’s Wagon”. Another pleasant addition to the “Vagon-Restauran” variety of rooms is the summer terrace which has become a full-fledged 14th restaurant’s room.
However, first of all any restaurant is a place where you come to eat. In “Vagon-Restaurant” splendid interior and agreeable atmosphere is complimented by original dishes of the Ukrainian, European and Oriental cuisines performed by a talented chef.
We recommend trying the “Buongiorno” salad with grilled chicken, bacon, celery and marinated cucumbers seasoned with the dressing “Ayoli”. Such desserts as chocolate hazelnut cake «Bohemia» with fresh fruit in almond-sesame basket do not budge an inch.
Though we can talk about “Vagon-Restauran” for ages, it’s always better to come here and enjoy all these delights yourself.
