As a rule, Caucasian restaurants are characterized by sincere and effortless atmosphere. “Mimino” is no exception, but in addition to it it beams with some warming nostalgic notes.
If the funny touching characters from a popular Soviet movie (after which the restaurant was called) wanted to open a restaurant, it would be exactly like this one.
Entering the place you’ll see the walls decorated with the photographs of the main movie characters, peaked caps and badges. All these vintage elements along with an old-fashioned fireplace surprisingly fit into the top-notch high-tech surroundings with big plasma screens and air-conditioning system. Still, there is also another interior component – authentic one. Multi-coloured stained-glass windows, tapestries and nice national utensils harmoniously complement the overall look. For confidential meetings there is a VIP-room on the ground floor of the restaurant.
Of course, the most important thing in the restaurant “Mimino” is its cuisine. Especially when it comes to the dishes from the most skillful and “delicious” chef in Tbilisi. As many people agree, his Adjaran hachapuri has no analogues in the Ukrainian capital. The chef managed to expertly adapt the Georgian cuisine to the Ukrainian taste. Real Georgian spices, cheeses Suluguni, and sauces: cherry plum Tkemali and pomegranate Narsharab – all come directly from Georgia. Suckling pig “Gochi” is prepared exactly like in Telavi. Each kind of kebab – veal or pork, lamb or chicken has its own secret marinade made by the maestro-chef.
Georgian coffee is served with Churchheloy (walnuts in honey and grape juice) and Samothe (prunes stuffed with nuts, honey and lemon juice). By the way, offered “Nut cake” is highly recommended by all the visitors. What is more, there is a seasonal menu from chef “For best friends”.
The “Mimino” restaurant can be described as an oasis of the Caucasian hospitality. When there is a noisy feast, the plethora of food pieces is literally breaking the tables; whereas by evenings there is live music performed by talented musicians. You are welcome to come here as according to the Caucasian traditions any guest is a wanted guest.
