The «Mandarin» Chinese restaurant is located in a very special place in Kiev – in a boat over the Dnieper with a beautiful view over the river.
Once you enter the restaurant you’ll find yourself in the era of the imperial dynasty Min. Melodic canary warbling, blooming orchids and the sounds of Chinese musical instruments in combination with classic ones – all of these make an amazing alliance. The appeal of «Mandarin» is in the successful combination of the best traditions of the Chinese cuisine complemented with the Japanese and European menus.
For centuries it’s been a tradition in China to regard products not only as food but also as a way to keep oneself in good health. The main principle of the Chinese meals is a balanced mix of meat and vegetables, right cooking time which makes it possible not to destroy all the nutrients that a product contains. All this is taken into account in «Mandarin» where practically all of the 14 major regional Chinese cuisines are represented. However, lovers of Japanese and European food will also something to their taste. There is a wide selection of the European dishes as well as sushi and rolls.
Fine wine will make a perfect match to ordered meals, while professional sommelier will help to make a right choice. The restaurant staff is made up by 10 chefs – all originating from China true masters and winners of multiple cooking contests that came to Kiev to work in «Mandarin».
Each detail in the design of the place is carefully thought out: kettles painted with hieroglyphs, traditional wall paintings, vases and statuettes, porcelain figures of “mandarins” and bamboo plants. All this is backed by the soft light flowing from the red Chinese lanterns hanging above the tables. Sophisticated but unpretentious atmosphere makes you to forget about all worries.
The Imperial Hall intended for a business lunches rolls in canaries chirping, the intimate Music Box room accommodates a small group of people, the Bamboo garden room is an ideal place for business negotiations while tea-room Jasmine calms with its shaded interior.
Perhaps, this is the only place in Kiev where you can enjoy fantastic food and totally relax plunging into the world of China with its ancient stories and traditions.
